A few months back, the Google Clock app was updated to include Spotify integration. Instead of selecting an already available tone or custom audio file for your alarm, you could select a Spotify song or playlist of your choice to make your mornings a little more enjoyable (or frustrating). Today, the music alarm feature is expanding even further with support for Google’s own YouTube Music as well as Pandora. You can now select songs from both streaming services, just like you already could with Spotify. Speaking of Spotify, since the service just went live in India, Indian users with the Google Clock app should also be able to set music alarms using the service.
Personally, I’m not a huge fan of waking up to music since I usually end up hating whatever song wakes me up. But if you do like waking up to music and you use any of these music streaming services, then you will gladly find your mornings to be a little more musical and happier. You’ll need to have the latest Google Clock app (version 6.1) and YouTube Music or Pandora. In the case of YouTube Music, the free version won’t work. You’ll need a subscription to set YouTube Music tracks as an alarm in the Google Clock app.
Be on the lookout for an update to Google Clock 6.1 very soon, or download it from APKMirror here.
