Our Threads downloader handles public posts, carousels, and replies. We use a Playwright backend to load the Threads page. Here are the most common questions.
How do I get a Threads post URL?
In the Threads app: tap the three dots on the post, tap "Copy link". On threads.net: copy the URL from the browser address bar. Both formats work - threads.net/@user/post/12345 and threads.net/@user/post/12345?xmt=... (we strip the ?xmt query param automatically).
Can I download Threads carousel videos?
Yes - we download each video in a Threads carousel as a separate MP4 file. For carousels with mixed image+video items, video items download as MP4 and image items as JPG. We do not stitch them into one file.
What Threads video quality is available?
Threads videos download at their original uploaded resolution - typically 720p or 1080p vertical. Threads compresses some uploads to 720p regardless of source, so high-resolution uploads may come through at lower quality.
Can I download from private Threads accounts?
No. Private accounts require Threads/Instagram login to view content. We do not support account-based downloads. Only public Threads profiles work.
Does the Threads downloader work with replies?
Yes. Tap "Copy link" on the reply, paste it. The video in that specific reply downloads. If the reply includes video and the parent post also has video, both download if you use the correct URL.
Can I download Threads on iPhone?
Yes. Open this page in Safari, paste the Threads URL, tap Download. The file saves to Files - tap "Save to Photos" to put it in your camera roll.
Why does my Threads download say "video unavailable"?
Three causes: (1) the post is image-only, no video, (2) the post was deleted or the URL is wrong, (3) the user's Threads account was suspended or set to private. Copy the URL fresh from Threads and try again.
Are Threads downloads watermark-free?
Yes. We grab the original file Threads hosts in their CDN. No Threads logo, no username, no reply overlay. The file matches what Threads serves in the app.
Does the downloader work on threads.net vs the Threads app?
Yes. Both the app share URL and the threads.net URL work. The threads.net/username/post/ID format is the canonical link - we recommend using it for best results.
Can I download a whole Threads conversation thread?
No. Each post/reply has its own URL and downloads separately. Use batch mode and paste the URLs of the posts you want to grab. Long conversations with many replies work one URL at a time.
Is downloading Threads content legal?
Downloading for personal offline use is fine. Re-uploading to Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts without permission violates Threads/Meta terms and copyright. Always credit the original poster.
Does Threads/Meta block downloads?
Threads shows aggressive rate-limiting - if you download 20+ posts in a row, expect delays. Wait 5-10 minutes between batches. Threads does not permanently block access to public content.
