7 Things to Know About the iPhone X iOS 13 Update

The iPhone X’s iOS 13 update has the potential to help, or hurt, your device’s performance.

Last week, Apple pulled the iOS 13 operating system out of beta and released it for the iPhone X and other iPhone models. As expected, the update is loaded up with changes.

iOS 13 brings a new Dark Mode, Memoji Stickers, a revamped Photos app, a new swipe-based keyboard, performance improvements, and more to the former flagship. It’s a substantial update and it’s an update most iPhone X users will want to install.

That said, there are some reasons you might want to hang around on iOS 12 for a little while longer.

The iOS 13 update is causing problems for some iPhone X users. We’ve heard about bugs and we’ve heard about a variety of performance issues. And with a new version of iOS 13 on the way, some of you might want to hold out for Apple’s first batch of bug fixes.

If you do decide to install iOS 13, know that it’s a substantial download, even if your device is on the latest version of iOS 12 (iOS 12.4.1). You’re looking at a 2GB file size.

If you’re running an older version of iOS 12, your download and change log will be much larger. That’s because the features and fixes from the updates you skipped are baked into your upgrade.

With all of that in mind, we want to guide you through everything you need to know, right now, about the iPhone X iOS 13 update.

We’ll take you through the problems, your downgrade options, the most important features, the jailbreak situation, and the update’s performance in the early going.
